Hunting in Tasman (Nelson)

Nelson Tasman is built on three big blocks of public hunting country: Kahurangi National Park, Mt Richmond Forest Park, and Nelson Lakes National Park, which runs a helicopter-access block system in spring and through the roar. Red stag and fallow are hunted through the bush valleys and tops, with chamois higher up in the Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes country. Stags roar through late March and April. Both kinds of guided hunting exist here, private ground and public land under concession, and they are different trips.
