Hunting in Bay of Plenty

The Bay of Plenty is central North Island country: the Mamaku Range and its rolling foothills, the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park, and the bush around the Rotorua lakes. Red stag and fallow are the main game, with sika in the bush toward the central plateau. Red stag roar through late March and April, and fallow follow with the groan into May. Guided hunting here runs on private land, from lodge-based properties to large private blocks.
